Biologo - Antibodies and Detection Systems for Medical ResearchBiologo (Germany) offers a large panel of antibodies and detection systems for biological, veterinary and medical research. The main focus of the company's products is ImmunoHistoChemistry (IHC). All antibodies are selected for high specificity and avidity and most of them are suitable for ImmunoHistoChemistry (IHC) on paraffin sections. ADVANCED GLYCATION END PRODUCTS (AGE)Long-term incubation of proteins with glucose leads, via Schiff's base and Amadori-rearrangement products, to Advanced Glycation End (AGE) products, characterised by their fluorescent quality, brown colour and inter and intra-molecular linkage. AGEs are found as deposit products in the brain, aorta, lens and in the kidney in different chronic diseases. BioLogo provides a range of excellent monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies against AGE, CML, CEL, 3-DG-Imidazolone, MG-derived AGE, Pentosidine, and Pyrraline. These antibodies are well suited for IHC and ELISA applications. BIOPRIME ANTIBODIESIHC investigations frequently require implementation of formaldehyde-fixed and paraffin-embedded material. BioPrime antibodies meet the highest standards required for this application. They are chosen specially for IHC application, and can be used directly on aldehyde-fixed material or after pre-treatment with special antigen unmasking fluids. BioPrime antibodies are suitable for the staining of CD-markers, structural proteins, hormones, receptors, tumour markers, and viruses in human cells and tissues. A list of cross-reactivities with non-human species is available. For paraffin sections BioLogo offers a number of excellent unmasking fluids, which help to detect antigens otherwise hidden by protein cross-linking. The Biologo Unmasking Fluid G is proving especially successful in seeking out hidden antigens which are not detected with the help of other buffers or enzymes. Highlights of the BioPrime range are AMACR / P504S, PIN-cocktails, p53, p63, Ep-CAM (HEA125), E-cadherin, chromogranin, different keratins (cytokeratins), mammaglobin, S-100, smooth muscle actin, and vimentin. EXTRA CELLULAR MATRIX (ECM)Connective tissues consist of insoluble fibres and soluble polymers, which are secreted by cells to form the Extra Cellular Matrix (ECM). The most important fibre components of the ECM are collagens and elastin, the soluble parts are proteoglycans and glycoproteins. BioLogo offers a range of antibodies, which includes species-specific and type-specific variants of ECM proteins, including:
All ECM antibodies are prepared for IHC on cryostat and paraffin sections. They perform equally well in ELISA, solid phase RIA and other techniques. ANTIBODY AND ANTIGEN RESEARCHBiologo conducts research into numerous antibodies and antigens for all research areas. Target species are humans and animals, and applications are flow cytometry, IHC, IFA, IP, WB, ELISA, and RIA. Routinely most of the company's antibodies are tested in IHC. However their suitability in other methods is very likely. BIOLOGO offers approximately 1,500 recombinant proteins for research purposes. The product range includes cytokines, chemokines, hormones, enzymes, virus antigens, serum and structural proteins.
