Jet Environmental - Low-Carbon Heating, Ventilation and Cooling SystemsWorking with blue chip pharmaceutical companies and the UK's top consultants and contractors, Jet Environmental provides cost-effective, energy efficient heating, ventilation and cooling solutions, utilising the latest in low-carbon air induction technology. Established in 1981, we specialise in low-carbon climate control solutions for large volume, pharmaceutical, industrial and commercial buildings – from 2.5m to more than 40m in height and with a floor area of 1,000m² to over 150,000m². Companies in the pharmaceutical market that use Jet Environmental systems include Boots Unichem Alliance, Pfizer, Phoenix Pharmaceutical, Healthcare Logistics and United Drug. COOLING AND VENTILATION SYSTEMSAt Jet we are experts in providing cooling and ventilation solutions for the pharmaceutical industry to ensure their products are stored in conditions that comply with the MHRA’s stringent climate-control requirements for manufacturers. According to the MHRA, the number-one critical deficiency in pharmaceutical warehouses is a rise in temperature above desired parameters. With the advent of global warming, temperature control is likely to become even more of a problem in warehouses that are not equipped with appropriate cooling. MHRA statistics show that temperature increases above 25°C have been the single biggest issue for those responsible for the storage of pharmaceutical products for the past five years. Jet's unique low-carbon technology provides a system which ensures the temperature is maintained at the required level, as well as being energy efficient. The MHRA recommends data logging to ensure a facility is complying with the regulations. With a Jet system the same temperature-monitoring sensors can be used for both controlling the system and capturing and reporting temperature data in accordance with the MHRA guidelines. BALANCED JET AIR-INDUCTION SOLUTIONSA warehouse without cooling will not comply with the EC regulations governing the storage of pharmaceutical products and if we continue to experience the high summer temperatures we have come to expect as the norm in Britain, traditional HVAC cannot be seen as the solution. Jet specialises in HVAC solutions that utilise its technologically advanced balanced jet air-induction systems. The temperature throughout the operational space is maintained at +/-1°C of the desired level. The systems are purpose-designed to entrain and recycle heat outputs from MHE as well as cope with tall, densely racked aisles, mezzanine areas and loading bays. It is also designed in order to integrate aesthetically with ancillary systems such as lighting, fire curtains and sprinklers. Importantly, Jet’s systems are engineered to deliver free cooling via controlled fresh air ventilation and a night-time purge, when external air temperatures are lower, reducing the reliance on mechanical cooling and so minimising the carbon footprint and helping to reduce operating costs over the system's lifecycle. LOW-CARBON TEMPERATURE CONTROL SYSTEMSAs a specialist in cost-effective low-carbon air induction based systems, we can advise companies on how to maintain temperatures in warehouses. The Energy Performance Building Directive (EPBD) is a further powerful incentive to implement a low-carbon solution. The aim of the EPBD is to "promote the improvement of energy performance of buildings within the community, taking into account outdoor climatic and local conditions as well as indoor climate requirements and cost-effectiveness". From April the 6th, 2008, an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) has been required on the construction, sale or renting out of non-residential buildings with a floor area over 10,000m². In many applications which we have engineered, building owners are benefiting from energy savings in excess of 50% with this type of system, in turn saving hundreds of tonnes of carbon per annum.
