Animascope is an R&D contract services company that specialises in multi-modality non-invasive biomedical imaging for discovery and preclinical exploratory research in several therapeutic areas. Non-invasive imaging allows the visualisation of structures, functions and dysfunctions in the whole body, in vivo or ex vivo, for research purposes. Biomedical image acquisition, processing and analysis, protocol design and turnkey servicesAnimascope offers a range of services, including protocol design, image acquisition, image processing, image analysis and reporting. Whole body studies are performed on healthy and disease animal models, in many species. Moreover, Animascope assists in model sourcing and pre-conditioning. Consultancy and training services are also available, to offer turnkey services to international customers. In vivo imagingIn biomedical research in vivo imaging is applicable to exploratory research, and bridges the gap between preclinical and clinical research. Imaging is particularly useful for pathophysiology, phenotyping and model validation studies. Medical imaging is applicable to biomarker validation and biodistribution studies, and is also used to assess the delivery, liberation, efficacy and safety of drugs, biologics, nanoparticles, biomaterials and stem cells. Imaging can assist in risk assessment and reproductive toxicology of chemical entities such as pesticides. Non-invasive in vivo imaging is a cost and time-effective approach to streamline R&D and increase predictability of clinical outcomes. With multi-modality imaging, multiple experimental readouts (anatomy, biodistribution, efficacy, safety and kinetics) are available within the frame of the same study, in the same anatomical context. Whole-body studies are performed within days. Imaging in therapeutic fields – bones, cardiovascular, cell therapy, oncology, reproduction and nutritionImaging is applicable to several systems and in many therapeutic areas, such as anti-infectives, bones, cardiovascular, cell therapy and gene therapy, development, genitourinary, immunisation, metabolism, musculoskeletal, neurology, nephrology, nutrition (nutraceuticals, dietary supplements and functional food), oncology, reproduction and development. Multidisciplinary expertise and several years of practice are needed to develop effective capabilities in non-invasive biomedical 3D imaging exploratory research. At Animascope, expertise and access to technologies are readily available. Animascope services allow customers to reduce animal usage and to be in the market earlier. We work on a fee-per-service basis. Non-invasive 3D imaging techniques and facilitiesAnimascope specialises in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound Imaging (US), X-ray Computed Tomography (CT), Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) and Optical Imaging. Animascope has direct access to imaging platforms in Rhone-Alpes. Moreover, we will soon open a facility in Archamps, a 15 minute drive from the international airport of Geneva.
