Cerebricon Ltd. is pleased to welcome Dr Risto Lammintausta and Professor Pekka T. Männistö to its Board of Directors. Both will fill vacant positions on the board.
Professor Männistö is currently Professor of Pharmacology and Drug Development in the Division of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Helsinki. He formerly held a Professorship at Uppsala University and recently spent more than eight years in University of Kuopio. In the 1980, he held positions within Orion Pharma. Professor Männistö has been a long standing member of Cerebricon's Scientific Advisory Board.
Dr. Lammintausta is the founder of Hormos Medical Ltd. (now a subsidiary of QuatRx Pharmaceutical Company, Ann Arbor, USA) and is currently chairman of Pharma Cluster Finland. He was vice-president for New Drug Development at Orion Corporation from 1990 - 1997. Dr. Lammintausta is also a co-founder and board member at Juvantia Pharma Ltd, a drug discovery company, and at Innomedica Ltd , a pharma business development company.
Concerning these new board appointments Cerebricon's CEO Juha Yrjänheikki stated, "We are very excited to have both Professor Männistö and Dr. Lammintausta on our board. This will now allow Cerebricon to move forward more efficiently than we have previously. It is important that Cerebricon has, resident within its board as well as within the general body of its employees, a well grounded and rational knowledge of pharmaceutical development. With these two new appointments we have achieved this with both the commercial aspects and the scientific aspects of drug development covered.
