BioHouston, Inc. Announces Selection of The Center for Professional Innovation & Education as Preferred Vendor of Training Services

18 January 2006

January, 18, 2006 - Houston, TX - BioHouston, Inc., an association representing the biotech community of the Greater Houston area has selected the Center for Professional Innovation & Education (CfPIE) in Wayne, PA to become the recommended vendor of Life Sciences training for its member organizations.

BioHouston sought this joint venture as an opportunity to provide its membership vital technical and compliance training that is both unparalleled and convenient. Beginning in April, 2006, CfPIE will begin offering select public course titles in the Houston area, as well as customized onsite courses. BioHouston organizations will be able to train their staff at a discounted rate available only to their members.

"This is an important addition to the BioHouston portfolio of member benefits. CfPIE's high-quality training programs for pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device companies-offered locally and at a discount to BioHouston Members-are a home run for our companies and life science community," said Jacqueline Northcut Waugh, BioHouston President and CEO.

Houston's Life Science community has grown tremendously over the last decade, in part due to grass-roots efforts such as that of BioHouston. This partnership only strengthens the commitment of BioHouston to make the region a world-recognized leader in the life sciences.

The venture is seen as a natural fit for both sides - BioHouston is able to provide yet another high-value service to its member companies and CfPIE has the opportunity to bring its internationally-renowned training programs to a rapidly growing life sciences market.

With over 200 public course programs offered annually, and an equal number offered at client-sites annually, CfPIE has established itself as a global leader in Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Medical Device and Skin/Cosmetics training courses.

"We are very pleased to be working with BioHouston in this important partnership. BioHouston has recognized the consistent high quality of our training programs and we look forward to providing our technical and regulatory expertise to its members as the Houston area continues to grow as a center for innovation in life sciences," said Mark Mazzie, Managing Director of CfPIE.
