RALEIGH, NC - June 9, 2006 - Three executives from INC Research® will present at the 42nd Annual Drug Information Association (DIA) meeting, June 18-22, 2006, in Philadelphia, PA. Each year, thousands of professionals who bring new medicines and vaccines to populations around the world gather at DIA to learn about best practices and the latest in regulations governing those practices.
Renee Simar, Ph.D., vice president, INC Pediatrics®, INC Research, will co-lead the tutorial, “Operational Aspects of Pediatric Clinical Trials CR, STM, IS,” on Sunday, June 18, at 1pm. Pediatric drug development is in the focus of US and EU health authorities and will in the near future include routine pediatric assessments at any early project stage. This tutorial will explain the legal framework that intends to facilitate pediatric drug development and scientific as well as practice aspects of phase I, II, and III pediatric clinical trials during preparation and execution.
Brenda Muldrow, MBA, vice president, customer relations at INC Research, will participate on the panel, “Designing and Managing Successful Outsourcing Relationships,” occurring Monday, June 19, at 1:30pm and again at 3:30pm. This two-part audience participation session will begin with a discussion on why relationship building and management is critical for project success, the experience of other industries, and how to design and manage the sponsor-provider relationship at the executive level. The second part of the session will focus on designing and managing the sponsor-provider relationship at the project team level.
John Potthoff, Ph.D., chief operating officer at INC Research, will speak at the session titled, “The State of Clinical Outsourcing: The Functional Service Provider Model,” on Wednesday, June 21, at 8:30am. This session will explore the opportunities, issues and challenges of the functional service provider (FSP) model of outsourcing and discuss the impact on the industry if large pharmaceutical companies shift from global, full-service outsourcing to the FSP model. Data from the 2006 State of Clinical Outsourcing Industry Survey will be shared.
