Origins by Elchrom, is the first submarine gel electrophoresis apparatus with integrated cooling / heating system temperature control, buffer circulation and uniform electric field.

GENOMOUSE FOR SPEED CONGENICS, GENETIC MONITORING, QA/QC AND QTL

GenoMouse assures that any effect seen in control animals or genetically-modified mice is not due to background variations but the result of an intentional, specific genetic modification. GenoMouse services offer genetic background testing used in association with speed congenics, genetic monitoring and strain / substrain identification (QC/QA).

Elchrom Scientific GenoMouse service is readily available for five commonly used mice combinations (B6/DBA2, B6/ 129, B6/Balbc, B6/NOD, B6/FVB) and can be customised for additional mouse strain pairs in three – five weeks.

Services include: DNA extraction, PCR for 96 polymorphic markers / animal, hydrogel analysis of PCR products and detailed data analysis.

PCR CHECKIT FOR HIGH THROUGHPUT PCR ANALYSIS

For PCR checking in high-throughput format we offer PCR CheckIT gels with up to 400 samples. Running time is between five and 30 minutes depending on the size of the fragments.

PCR CheckIT gels are the only reusable non-agarose precast gels, they cover the size range from 100bp to 4,000bp. PCR CheckIT gels are extremely stable and can be stored for more than 18 months at 4°C, and can be reused up to ten times. PCR products are pure and can be excised from the gel to be used directly in cycle sequencing, reamplification and cloning. No cleanup or purification steps are required.

SPREADEX HYDROGELS FOR STR, AFLP AND ISSR ANALYSIS

Spreadex gels are made of new proprietary monomer for high-resolution applications (microsatellites, AFLP). Six different types of Spreadex mini gels for submarine electrophoresis cover the size range from 20bp to 1,000bp. Spreadex gels are available in eight different sizes with up to 400 samples per presentation. For best results including accurate size estimation, standardisation, fast runs and high throughput, new submarine electrophoresis apparatus, Origins by Elchrom™ is recommended.

SHORT FRAGMENT™ GELS FOR HIGH-RESOLUTION ANALYSIS OF OLIGOS, dsDNA AND siRNA

Short Fragment™ precast gels for high-resolution analysis of short nucleic acids fragments (ssDNA, dsDNA, labeled oligonucleotides and siRNA) resolve 1nt difference in size below 50nt. Bands are sharp and straight and resolution is size-dependent when gels are run at +55°C in Origins' temperature controlled electrophoresis apparatus with buffer circulation. When electrophoresis is performed at room temperature, migration is sequence-dependent leading to inaccurate sizing of the fragments.
