SLI provides:

  • Control matrices
  • Disease state material
  • Tissue culture
  • Media and cell culture reagents
  • Immunoglobulins
  • Primary antisera
  • Secondary antisera
  • Quantum Dot technology
  • Staining systems

ANIMAL BLOOD, SERUM, PLASMA AND TISSUES

We provide blood, serum, plasma (anti-coagulant of choice), biological fluids and tissues from a large range of animal species, including African green monkey, baboon, beagle, bovine, cat, chicken, chimpanzee, cynomologous monkey, dog (mongrel), donkey, ferret, gerbil, goat, guinea pig, hamster, horse, marmoset, mini-pig, mouse, pig, rabbit, rat, rhesus monkey, and sheep.

All our animal material can be supplied treated by a processes including heat inactivation, charcoal stripping (to remove specific hormones) and ultra-filtration to specified molecular weight cut offs.

Animal materials can be supplied as individual donors, pooled batches or groupings, as required. Gender and age can also be specified. Specific strains of animals may also be requested – please contact us for details of available species.

HUMAN SERUM AND PLASMA

Human material is collected from stringently screened donors at FDA-licensed donor centres. The donors must test negative for RPR, HIV1, HIV2, Hepatitis B surface antigen, HCV and HIV1-Ag. The donors must also have normal ALT levels. Qualifying donors are selected after receiving a complete physical examination and passing all the required viral marker tests using FDA-approved methodology.

All material can be supplied as individual donors, groups of donors or pooled batches. Age, race and gender may also be specified.

DISEASE STATE MATERIAL

SLI can provide material from donors with specific disease states or conditions. A specimen bank is maintained with the more frequently collected samples allowing for quick delivery. More esoteric material is collected to order.

Samples can be pre-existing, remnant diagnostic specimens that are de-linked from their original source or prospective samples collected under approved IRB protocols.

Samples may be collected in serum, plasma, whole blood or other bodily fluids such as CSF, synovial fluid, etc. When collecting material prospectively, multiple time-point collections or matched sets of multiple tubes may be available.

PBMC EXTRACTION

PBMCs are available in sodium citrate or sodium heparin. They can be collected from human material or an animal species of choice.

TISSUE CULTURE

SLI is a primary collector and producer of high-grade foetal bovine serum. Material is available sourced from Australia, New Zealand, USA and South America. Samples are available for batch testing on request.

Also available are newborn bovine serum, donor horse serum and adult bovine serum.

CELL CULTURE MEDIA

SLI has a comprehensive range of cell culture media and related reagents including a range of cell culture media which were developed to eliminate animal proteins from cell culture. SLI can offer products with Low Serum (LS) content or Very Low Serum (VLS) content.

MONOCLONAL AND POLYCLONAL PRIMARY ANTISERA

SLI has a large range of monoclonal and polyclonal primary antisera including a small selection of monoclonal antisera produced in rabbits.

The selection of secondary antisera encompasses a large range of animal species and offers a variety of formats from antisera through to affinity purified product. Many of these are available pre-conjugated with traditional fluorochromes.

The Quantum Dot range of products for fluorescent staining offers photo-stability with high resistance to photo-bleaching, very narrow color emission for multiplexing and high sensitivity detection. These products are easily conjugated to biomolecules.
