PEPTIDE MANUFACTURING

Our peptides are manufactured with the most rigorous QC in the world. Every peptide manufactured to 85% or higher is sequenced by CID MS/MS – our exclusive MS Check^™ service.

In addition, all MS work is carried out using high end instrumentation such as the QSTAR XL Pro, a Q-o-TOF nano-spray ESI mass spectrometer, accurate to 10ppm.

Peptides purified to >97% purity or higher are also analyzed by analytical HPLC at multiple pHs to ensure the quality of the product.

Peptide modeling, the use of the most modern building blocks available including cGMP-grade amino acids and PEG resins, helps manufacture every peptide we sell in our own labs. The sequencing of medium to long peptides at critical points along the way ensures timely manufacture and delivery of each peptide.

CUSTOM ANTIBODY PRODUCTION

The scientific team at 21st Century Biochemicals has directed the manufacture of over 14,000 custom antibodies. We specialize in the production of modification state-specific antibodies: phosphospecific, lysine acetylation and methylation, arginine-methylation (symmetrical and asymmetrical), hydroxyproline, nitrotyrosine, and others.

In-house expertise is available for polyclonal antibody production in rabbits, rodents, goat, sheep and chickens (IgY), as well as the production of mouse monoclonal antibodies.

QUALITY ANTIBODY PRODUCTION

Antibodies that can detect the protein target and / or the modification of choice are not produced by accident, through the use of low quality peptides to save a few dollars, or through the too-common reliance on commercially available antigen predictive programs written in some cases 20 or more years ago.

At 21^st Century Biochemicals, custom antibody production is one of our main areas of emphasis. We incorporate the latest scientific information as to how the immune system processes foreign antigens and how these antigensbind to MHC II proteins, coupling that information with the in-house production of high quality peptides (manufactured at >85% purity or higher and sequenced by CID MS/MS to insure 100% peptide fidelity).

Animals are housed at USDA/NIH or AAALAC approved farms and we offer a variety of protocols, thus giving our customer the flexibility to meet both their scientific and economic needs.

We also stand behind each and every antibody we manufacture. In cases where an antibody is slow to develop, we troubleshoot the protocol at no extra charge. This might entail changing carriers, modifying the immune protocol, or using various proprietary methods we have developed in-house to enhance the immune response.

Although not all antibodies will work, our success rate of approximately 90% - as determined by our customer’s ability to detect their protein / modification of interest by immunoblotting, immunohistochemistry and/or other methods- speaks for itself.

Our QC is second-to-none and the use of high end instrumentation and sequence of each high purity peptide by CID MS/MS, ensures that each peptide was manufactured as indicated.Thus production schedules, information flow, and QC analysis are totally under our control and we are able to keep our customers informed as to the status of their projects at all times.

We are also able to accommodate special requests such as unusual antibody purification demands, the production of peptides with a variety of modifications, or the use of customer supplied materials for antibody or peptide production.
