CellAura Technologies is the premier source of innovative fluorescent screening products for life science research and drug discovery. CellAura combines world-renowned expertise in synthetic chemistry and molecular pharmacology to produce high quality fluorescent reagents as tracers for Our functionally-validated fluorescent compounds comprise well-characterised drug-like molecules linked to standard fluorophore dyes. The resulting fluorescent antagonists and agonists are used for molecular pharmacology, fluorescent ligand binding, fluorescence activated cell sorting (FACS), high throughput screening (HTS), fluorescence confocal microscopy, cell imaging, fluorescence confocal spectroscopy (FCS) and high content screening (HCS). Catalogue fluorescent reagentsThe key to producing high quality fluorescent reagents with comparable pharmacological properties to the 'parent' molecule relies on optimising the chemical linker between the ligand and the fluorophore. CellAura’s development of fluorescent agonists, in particular, provides novel opportunities to study ligand-binding and functional activity simultaneously. CellAura's approach is poised to take advantage of technical advances in confocal microscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy and plate reader technology to gain the maximum information from multi-parameter studies in single living cells. We are constantly expanding our catalogue of fluorescent ligands to meet this need.
Custom synthesis of bespoke fluorescent reagentsIn addition to 'off-the-shelf’ catalogue products, CellAura also offers a contract fluorescent reagent development and validation service, through which a customer's specific product can be synthesized and a full pharmacological characterisation provided. A typical custom reagent synthesis programme comprises an initial synthesis of a reagent mini-library, using a specified compound and fluorescent dye, joined with a selection of linker chemistries. Following pharmacological evaluation of the mini-library of fluorescent compounds using an appropriate assay, one or two selected molecules are further optimised to suit the customer's application. The final optimised product is provided to the customer in the quantity requested. Through its unique approach to chemical synthesis, CellAura has developed a number of bespoke fluorescent ligands to meet customer requirements for use with a range of fluorescence imaging / drug screening / pharmacological techniques.
